We are also celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day, which is recognized each year on June 21 because of the cultural significance of the summer solstice and the day with the longest period of daylight. These celebrations offer opportunities to recognize and learn about the cultural diversity and distinct contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis Peoples.<\/p>\n<h2>To Learn More<\/h2>\n<h3>National Indigenous Peoples Day &#8211; Government of Canada<\/h3>\n<p>June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. Don\u2019t miss the opportunity to celebrate and learn more about the cultural diversity of the First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis Peoples by participating in the many activities happening across Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/canadian-heritage\/campaigns\/indigenous-peoples-day.html\">Government of Canada website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Indigenous Day Live &#8211; APTN<\/h3>\n<p>On June 17, celebrate the summer solstice and National Indigenous Peoples Day with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indigenousdaylive.ca\/broadcast\/\">APTN Indigenous Day Live (IDL)<\/a>. This event showcases Indigenous artists and features multidisciplinary collaborations in English, French, and a variety of Indigenous languages.<\/p>\n<h2>Resources for Caregivers and Students<\/h2>\n<p>The WRDSB\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/about-the-wrdsb\/indigenous-equity-and-human-rights-department\/indigenous-education\/\">Indigenous Education Branch<\/a> continues to provide a variety of resources to support both students and their families.<\/p>\n<h3>Join the Celebration<\/h3>\n<p>Help us celebrate Indigenous History Month.
