Walking, biking and wheeling to and from school:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creates a joy of fitness<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Increases alertness in the classroom<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspires social connection<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exploring alternatives to vehicle transportation not only boosts well-being, it:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Helps reduce fossil fuel emissions\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creates a safe active transportation environment around WRDSB schools<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While this is only one month of action, we hope it inspires many to choose active travel more often despite the unpredictable Spring weather. We hope these efforts will have a ripple effect throughout the rest of the school year, and into the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We all have a part in building schools and communities that support all forms of transportation. We want to reshare your stories and posts!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>How You Can Participate<\/h2>\n<p><b>All WRDSB students, staff and families are welcome to participate in Spring into Spring!<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> As an added bonus, students can register how many days and how far they walk or wheel for a chance to win 1 of 5 $20 Indigo gift cards. If this is something that your child would be interested in, please fill out the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/shorturl.at\/lHQ09\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student Registration form<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by April 30, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>What about remote learners, bus students or students who get a drive?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These students can participate, too!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students who ride the bus are encouraged to walk to and from their bus stops. Remote learners are encouraged to take some time throughout their day to walk around their neighbourhood.
