This important time allows us to honour the voices, experiences, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis Peoples, and to reflect on their strength, knowledge, and continued presence across the land.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the month, students and staff are encouraged to explore the cultural richness and diverse histories of Indigenous Peoples. The WRDSB Indigenous Education Branch has created and gathered a variety of resources to support learning, centred on the message \u201cWe Are All Connected\u201d. This theme was also highlighted during the recent WRDSB Indigenous Voices Symposium and reminds us of the importance of relationships, community, and shared responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>While June shines a spotlight on Indigenous histories, this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/page\/indigenous-education-ontario\">learning<\/a> continues year-round. We invite students and families to join us throughout June using the links and resources provided below.<\/p>\n<h2>National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21<\/h2>\n<p>National Indigenous Peoples Day is recognized annually on June 21. This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis Peoples.
