{"id":542,"date":"2021-04-09T16:06:36","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T16:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/schools.wrdsb.ca\/alternative-education\/?p=542"},"modified":"2021-04-09T16:06:36","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T16:06:36","slug":"expanded-asymptomatic-targeted-testing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/schools.wrdsb.ca\/alternative-education\/2021\/04\/09\/expanded-asymptomatic-targeted-testing\/","title":{"rendered":"Expanded Asymptomatic Targeted Testing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), along with the Ministry of Education and its testing partners, continue to offer voluntary asymptomatic targeted testing for staff and students through a variety of testing approaches to support the safe return to in-person learning after the break.<\/p>\n<h2>In-Pharmacy Testing<\/h2>\n<h3>Existing Pharmacies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For the week of April 12-18 only<\/strong>, pharmacies that currently offer asymptomatic testing for education staff, will now accept appointments from students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Children attending child care located within schools<\/strong> will also be eligible to access this testing. Please check with your local pharmacy on the minimum testing age.<\/li>\n<li>While students\/children can access testing in pharmacies for April 12-18 only, this testing will continue to be available for all staff.<\/li>\n<li>To book an appointment, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/covid-19.ontario.ca\/assessment-centre-locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19 Testing Locations website<\/a>, and select \u201cpharmacy\u201d as your location type, with the booking details requested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>New Pharmacies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In addition to these pharmacies, Shoppers Drug Mart is also able to offer additional in-pharmacy Rapid Antigen Screening for students and staff beginning April 14, 2021<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#testing\">Please see the list below of participating stores<\/a><\/li>\n<li>To book an appointment, please contact the store directly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Assessment Centres<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>For the week of April 12-18, students and staff will also be able to access asymptomatic testing at local assessment centres.<\/li>\n<li>Children attending child care located within schools, and child care staff, will also be eligible to access this testing.<\/li>\n<li>This testing is only being offered to students, children and staff from April 12-18.<\/li>\n<li>To book an appointment, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/covid-19.ontario.ca\/assessment-centre-locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19 Testing Locations website<\/a>, and select \u201cassessment centre\u201d as your location type, with the booking details requested<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you again for all your efforts to keep our schools safe.
