In recognition of the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education has made it possible to provide short term mental health support for July and August 2021. These services are available to any students and their parents or caregivers registered with Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB).<\/p>\n<p>Our WRDSB Social Workers are available to consult about your concerns, engage in well-being check-ins and help with navigating community resources.<\/p>\n<h3>Connect with a WRDSB Social Worker<\/h3>\n<p>To speak to a WRDSB Social Worker:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Email: <a href=\"mailto:socialworksupport@wrdsb.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">socialworksupport@wrdsb.ca<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Call: 519-570-0003, ext. 4580\n<ul>\n<li>Press 2 before entering the extension<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Staff will be available Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and will respond to your request for support within 48 hours, excluding weekends. Support will be provided virtually or over the phone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\"><strong>This is not a crisis or emergency service. If you, or a loved one, are in crisis, call HERE 24\/7 at 1-844-437-3247 or go to your nearest hospital.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-214313\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Web-Banner-4.jpg\" alt=\"Stress and Anxiety Bootcamp \" width=\"2560\" height=\"105\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We are offering free interactive, fun information sessions about stress and anxiety and how they can be managed. These sessions offered by Board mental health professionals will be hosted jointly with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB). These one-hour workshops, scheduled over two weeks in August, will help students and their families to learn and develop more ways to manage stress and anxiety.<\/p>\n<h3>How To Pre-Register<\/h3>\n<p>Once pre-registered, you will receive the Zoom meeting link via email.<\/p>\n<div class=\"register\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScbBmySp_PpwGlxLa2H39OJ8Lo210IBD7Up2eZ11-BiPT8HVQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pre-Register<\/a><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Community Well-Being Hubs<\/h2>\n<p>Worried about your child\u2019s well-being? Wondering about when to be concerned or get help? Need more resources to meet the health and well-being needs of your family?<\/p>\n<p>Talk to your school board and community service partners\u2019 staff about any of your family\u2019s concerns.
