Child care centres and schools with a primary division (Grade 3 and under) must sample at least one-third of their drinking water fixtures in each of 2017, 2018 and 2019, with all drinking water fixtures sampled by January 1, 2020. Other facilities (middle and high schools) must sample all their drinking water fixtures by January 1, 2022. There is no maximum limit to the number of times a facility can sample their water for lead, in just over the next two years, every tap for primary schools and child care centres will be tested.
