{"id":71558,"date":"2020-05-01T07:00:56","date_gmt":"2020-05-01T11:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/schools.wrdsb.ca\/athome\/?page_id=71558"},"modified":"2020-05-25T14:11:00","modified_gmt":"2020-05-25T18:11:00","slug":"strategy-number-battle","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/schools.wrdsb.ca\/athome\/learn\/elementary-home\/elementary-2\/math\/math-grades-7-8\/games\/strategy-number-battle\/","title":{"rendered":"Strategy Number Battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Games<\/h5>\n<h3>Answer to Yesterday\u2019s Guess That Estimation:<\/h3>\n<p>The average person will eat 10,000 chocolate bars in a lifetime.<\/p>\n<h2>Strategy Number Battle<\/h2>\n<p>This is a game for two players or 2 teams.<\/p>\n<h3>The object of the game:<\/h3>\n<p>Collect the most amount of cards.<\/p>\n<p>Materials: Deck of cards<\/p>\n<p>Ace worth 11, Jack worth 12, Queen worth 13, King worth 14<\/p>\n<h3>How to Play:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Black cards are positive numbers; red cards are negative numbers.<\/li>\n<li>Players split a deck of cards and simultaneously flip over their top four (or five) cards.<\/li>\n<li>Players\/Teams may do whatever math manipulation they wish with the numbers to create the largest result.<\/li>\n<li>Players\/Teams may move the cards and place in any position of the equation they wish.<\/li>\n<li>Whichever player or team has the highest answer collects all of the cards displayed for that round<\/li>\n<li>Continue to play until all cards have been used.<\/li>\n<li>Each player\/team counts the number of cards they collected.
