We know that these are stressful times for our students and their families and we want to highlight the resources available to help.<\/p>\n<p>If you are worried about your child\u2019s or your own well-being or mental health, please refer to resources provided by <a href=\"http:\/\/cmho.org\/findhelp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Children\u2019s Mental Health Ontario.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>For Students<\/h2>\n<h3>Front Door<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontdoormentalhealth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Front Door is your starting point<\/a> for accessing child and youth mental health services and supports in Waterloo Region. They work with parents\/caregivers, children and youth (up to their 18th birthday) who are struggling with life\u2019s challenges such as emotions, behaviours, relationships and mental health. They listen, offer support and can help you identify the next steps, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontdoormentalhealth.com\/programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">including access to other services<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Jack.org<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jack.org\/covid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jack.org is a national youth website<\/a> for young Canadians addressing the impact of COVID-19. The site brings together resources and self-help information through an innovative partnership between jack.org, SMH-ON and the Kids Help-Phone. Visit the site at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jack.org\/covid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.jack.org\/covid<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>School Mental Health Ontario (SMHO)<\/h3>\n<p>SMHO works together with Ontario school districts to support student mental health and has created a <a href=\"https:\/\/smho-smso.ca\/covid-19\/students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">resource to support students with their mental health during COVID-19<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/returntoschool\/student-well-being\/mental-health-resources\/student-mental-health-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">View our website for the complete list of resources for students<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>For Families<\/h2>\n<h3>Caregivers\u2019 Guides To Accessing Support For Students With Anxiety | WRDSB<\/h3>\n<p>The Caregivers\u2019 Guide will help parents and caregivers to recognize signs their child may be struggling with anxiety, while also providing resources to help them succeed. This includes a variety of home-based strategies, as well as apps and online support for families of a student with anxiety.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Anxiety-Guide_Parents_June25_2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Guide for Elementary Students<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/WRDSB-Parent-and-Caregiver-Anxiety-Support-Resource-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Guide for Secondary Students<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Parents for Children\u2019s Mental Health (PCMH)<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcmh.ca\/Waterloo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Parents for Children\u2019s Mental Health (PCMH)<\/a> offers peer support for parents and caregivers of children experiencing mental health challenges through one on one phone calls and emails, as well as peer-to-peer virtual support groups.<\/p>\n<p>Email: <a href=\"mailto:waterloo@pcmh.ca\">waterloo@pcmh.ca<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<h3>Here 24\/7<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/here247.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Here24\/7 is your first step<\/a> to access the addictions, mental health, and crisis services provided by 11 agencies across Waterloo-Wellington. All you need to do is reach out. They\u2019ll work together with you to understand what you need and work to get you connected. Here24\/7 does the intake, assessment, and referrals for most local government-funded addictions and mental health services.
