The BIEP is what supports the implementation and achievement of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/learning\/strategic-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strategic Plan<\/a>. We have summarized our performance indicators and reflected on the outcomes of the strategies and actions we have implemented.<\/p>\n<h2>BIEP Areas of Focus<\/h2>\n<p>The BIEP is one of the ways we review our progress and the outcomes of specific strategies to support student achievement and well-being. But we also know that there are many ways staff work daily to support student achievement and well-being, and promote positive and inclusive work environments.<\/p>\n<p>The four areas of the BIEP are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Achievement<\/strong>: Every student will succeed academically.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sovereignty, human rights and equity<\/strong>: Every student and staff member has equitable opportunities in an environment free from discrimination.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mental health, well-being and engagement<\/strong>: Every student and staff member will learn and work in environments that engage them and support their mental health and well-being.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pathways and transitions<\/strong>: Every student is prepared for the next step in their elementary and secondary education and their postsecondary pathway.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Updates on Outcomes from the 2023-24 Plan<\/h2>\n<p>In the second year of the implementation of the Board Improvement and Equity Plan, in support of the WRDSB Strategic Plan and Conditions for Learning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We focused on the use of evidence-based instructional practices and implementation of\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/learning\/programs\/structured-literacy-multi-year-plan-slmyp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Multi-year Structured Literacy Plan<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/learning\/programs\/math-action-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Math Achievement Action Plan<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>We continue to build on our commitment to improving well-being, equity and student pathways, including\n<ul>\n<li>Support WRDSB schools to create environments where students feel a sense of connection and belonging<\/li>\n<li>Sovereignty-affirming and equity leadership competencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We also aligned the Board Improvement and Equity Plan with the Ministry of Education <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/learning\/sap\/2023-24-student-achievement-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Student Achievement Plan<\/a>, which includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>11 indicators mandated by the Ministry of Education<\/li>\n<li>Data supplied by the Ministry and posted annually<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These efforts continue beyond reporting back on the 2023-2024 BIEP.
