With this in mind, we are introducing an opt-in process for students in Grade 7 to 12.<\/p>\n<p>We remain focused on supporting the learning needs of all students.<\/p>\n<h3>Coming in May &#8211; Current Grade 6 to 8 Students Opt-In for 2026-2027<\/h3>\n<p>In May, parents, families and caregivers of WRDSB students currently in Grade 6 to 8 will receive an invitation to opt-in, if applicable, so their child may receive a WRDSB-provided Chromebook. Paper forms will also be available upon request from your school\u2019s Principal.<\/p>\n<p>You may also choose to provide your child with your own device. Recommended technical specifications can be found on our website.<\/p>\n<p>Students with Special Education (SEA) devices are not required to complete the opt-in process. They should continue to use the device assigned to them.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/learning\/programs\/elementary-school-information\/chromebooks\/\">Chromebooks for Grade 7 and 8 Students<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrdsb.ca\/learning\/programs\/secondary-school-information\/chromebook-project\/\">Chromebooks for Grade 9 to 12 Students<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please note<\/strong>: For the 2026-2027 school year, the opt-in process will only be offered to students entering Grades 7 to 9 or those new to the WRDSB. If your child entering Grade 10 to 12 already has a WRDSB-provided Chromebook, there is no need to opt-in.<\/p>\n<h2>About WRDSB-Provided Chromebooks<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>WRDSB-provided Chromebooks remain the property of WRDSB.<\/li>\n<li>Chromebooks will be assigned to an individual student.<\/li>\n<li>Students graduating or leaving the WRDSB must return their Chromebooks.<\/li>\n<li>Devices that are not returned will be remotely disabled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> The WRDSB is not responsible for the repair or maintenance of devices not provided by the WRDSB to students.<\/p>\n<h2>Tech@Home<\/h2>\n<h3>Troubleshooting Resources<\/h3>\n<p>Need help troubleshooting a technical issue with your WRDSB-provided device?
