Want to go to college, but you have no high school diploma? Have a diploma, but you are missing a necessary course to be able to apply to a college program?\u00a0 You have many options to open the door to college.<\/p>\n

The chart below shows 4 different ways to get to college<\/strong> (the fifth purple pathway is a pathway to university).\u00a0 Perhaps the most well known route is the Ontario Secondary School Diploma pathway (red).\u00a0 But it is not the only pathway available to adults.<\/p>\n

At ESU, we help people down two other pathways to college:
\n1.\u00a0 Academic and Career Entrance Program<\/strong> pathway (yellow)
\n2.\u00a0 High School Equivalency Certificate<\/strong> via the Canadian Adult Education Credential (GED replacement)<\/em> pathway (green). (Note:\u00a0 please see our CAEC – the GED Replacement<\/strong><\/a> page)<\/p>\n

NOTE:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>Good news!\u00a0 Now, learners that earn college entrance via upgrading (without an OSSD and without the high school prerequiste courses) are eligible to also get their OSSD on completion of a college diploma or degree <\/em>program! On July 28, 2023, the Government of Ontario released Policy\/Program Memo 132 on the subject of <\/em>Prior Learning and Recognition for Mature Students – Revised Mandatory Requirements<\/a><\/strong> that announces this change.<\/em><\/p>\n
