There is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/page\/start-apprenticeship#section-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Loans\u00a0for Tools Program<\/a> available after graduation to help apprentices buy tools and equipment to<br \/>\nperform the tasks of their trade.<\/p>\n<h2>What are \u201cRed Seal\u201d trades?<\/h2>\n<p>The Red Seal endorsement on a journeyperson\u2019s Certification of Qualification confirms that the person has achieved a nationally recognized level of competency in the trade. The Red<br \/>\nSeal also means that the journeyperson is licensed to practice his\/her trade in any province or territory of Canada. Many \u201cRed Seal\u201d certificates are also recognized internationally. For<br \/>\nmore information about the Red Seal Program, visit www.red-seal.ca or speak to your Co-op teacher.<\/p>\n<h2>What do students need to qualify for OYAP?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Be at least 15 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Have at least 14 credits<\/li>\n<li>Be mature, dependable and punctual<\/li>\n<li>Be committed to learning a trade<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to meet employer and school expectations<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate commitment to education while working towards Ontario Secondary School<br \/>\nDiploma (OSSD)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How is attendance monitored?<\/h2>\n<p>Students are responsible for calling the training supervisor and the Co-op teacher if they will be late or absent from the workplace.
