The employer provides job-specific training as part of the placement.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When can I plan to take Co-op?<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Co-op can take place from Summer School after grade 10 though grades 11 and 12. Most programs last one complete semester (or July for Summer Co-op).\u00a0 You may choose to take multiple semesters of Co-op.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How does a placement fit into my school schedule?<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Typically, you will spend half your day in school and the other half on the job site, although work schedules can be very flexible.\u00a0 Some students spend a full day in Co-op.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How do I get to and from\u00a0 my placement each day?<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will need to arrange your own transportation back and forth from your placement. We strive to ensure your placement is as close to your school as possible.\u00a0 Co-op teachers will assist you with planning your transportation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How do I find a placement?<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your Co-op teacher will work with you to find a placement from those employers who have openings. You will have to submit a resume and have an interview with the prospective employer. As part of your in-class sessions, you will learn how to build a great resume and do practice interviews to prepare for meeting your potential Co-op employer.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do I receive a mark for my Co-op course and placement?<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes. Your Co-op teacher will work with the employer to come up with learning goals. Your teacher, with the input of the employer, will evaluate regularly how things are going, identifying areas of improvement.
