The spring migration of songbirds is well underway in Southern Ontario. Over the past couple of weeks the Camp Heidelberg property has seen the return of Chipping, Song, and Swamp Sparrows, Northern Flickers, Wood Ducks, and even an early Eastern Kingbird. Although warblers, a group of songbird consisting of 30-ish species during migration in S. Ontario, have been absent in large numbers there have been a handful of the species pictured below that have made their way through here on their way to the Boreal Forest to breed.
