This week has continued to be unseasonably warm, and with the day-lengths increasing a few birds have begun to sing their songs. Black-capped Chickadees were singing yesterday morning and today it was the White-breasted Nuthatch. Keep your ears open and you might hear a few birds expressing their ‘feelings’ for the coming of spring. I anticipate Northern Cardinals to join in on the first sunny day we get, but they are not a common species at Heidelberg and there is a good chance others will hear them around home long before I do at work.

If you hear some early bird songs I would love to know which species they are!
