What a surprise today! There is a thin layer of ice on golden pond which is the first time I’ve ever seen it. I think everyone is having more fun because of it.we have a small group of twelve here today because it’s also take your kid to work day.
There is still an entire week of pond study left so hopefully (although I’m sure others would disagree) there will be more ice to come. Despite the winter-like temperatures (the air temperature is 4.6 and the water is 2 degrees celcius) the students are still finding various types of beetles, waterboat man and the occasional frog. It is finally sunny here and that really makes all the difference.
