Although my last post commented on how cool October seemed to have been, apparently our low temperatures weren’t that cool. The University of Waterloo weather station reports that our nighttime lows were two degrees above the long-term average. For Waterloo, that made October the 19th month in a row with above average temperatures.
The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports that worldwide temperatures were 0.63 degrees Celsius warmer in October than the 100 year average. Amazingly, this marks the 332nd month in a row that worldwide average temperatures were above the 100 year average. That’s over 27 years straight.
Here’s a nifty map showing this year’s temperatures so far. More on this at: http://grist.org/news/if-youre-27-or-younger-youve-never-experienced-a-colder-than-average-month/
