This is a time-lapse video of me (Levi) setting up a short mist net, catching some birds, banding them, and then taking it all down again.  I love this little mist net, at only 3 meters long it is very small but very portable.

Bird banding and Chickadee feeding has started up again for another year, we will continue on into March and track social dominance as we go.  This year almost all the birds here have radio-frequency ID tags, so we will bring some tag readers with us and let the computer do some of the counting!  Really excited to find out which birds are still around from last year and which individuals are now ‘in charge’.
