Here are a couple of poems written by students in the enrichment program while they were at Laurel Creek.  Good stuff.

Forest

Stillness surrounds me.

The river calls to me.

The ground caresses me.

The trees come to life.

The vacant sky stares down at me.

Everything is peaceful.

Please

I am nature.

The flowers the trees.

I am nature

and I beg you please

Stop the destruction

of me and my home

For the deer and the buffalo

Need my land to roam

The birds and the squirrels

need homes in my trees

The fish and the whales

need clean water in my seas

And if one of these days

it just all dies away

what would you do

what would you say

For you need me

as i need you

do onto others

as you would have them

do onto you.
