Greetings to students and teachers!
Today will be my first day as Outdoor Education Instructor at Blair OEE Centre. I should first and foremost say a huge thanks to Peter Rasberry for his many years of leadership in the field of Outdoor Education. Waterloo Region students have been privileged to connect with the natural world through Peter’s many well developed programs. And thank you Peter for entrusting me with these valuable programs and this beautiful centre.
I very much look forward to meeting the classes of students that will be arriving this month. Some students may recognize me from my most recent position as instructor at the Huron Natural Area or from my teaching placements at Laurel Creek Nature Centre. When I arrived today I was greeted by a booklet of letters from students who visited me at Laurel Creek in spring of 2015 for the maple syrup program. Thank you Mrs. Brohman’s class! Your letters finally found me!
Best of luck to all students who are starting at a new school today! I remember how intimidating it was for me as a student when I had to change schools. In contrast, my introduction to Blair has been warm and welcoming. As I become more familiar with the land and creatures of Blair I will be posting blog updates here. It is my hope that you will follow along on this exciting journey.
