Cross-Strand Activities

Primary French Immersion:

  • Have you looked for words about the house that are in French – les mots autour de la maison.
  • Where could you start? Start with food (la nourriture). Look at the labels and packaging (l’emballage). You might try books (livres), magazines, games (jeux), puzzles (casse-tête) etc.
  • Create a list of words that you find around the home (autour de la maison). Des exemples: chocolat, thon, morceaux, eau, céréal, tomates, pois chiches, bretzels, rond etc.
  • Write the words on different pieces of paper and sort them in as many different ways as possible.
  • Create as many different sentences using the words that you found. Read them out loud to some in your home.
  • Keep your list and add to it with other words that you find while you are at home.
