Connecting Reading and Writing: Traditional Stories
Goals:
- Learn more about Trickster Stories
- Begin to develop the characteristics of a Trickster Story
Many different cultures around the world have traditional stories that feature a character called a “trickster”.
To learn more, read the article Have you ever read a trickster tale? from CBC Kids.
After reading the article, write a description of the characteristics of a trickster.
Use ideas from the article and examples from the “The Story of Baby Turtle” to write your description.
Tomorrow, we will read more trickster stories and refine your definition of a “trickster”.
Other Opportunities:
- Keep on reading books you choose every day!
Note: Online articles and stories can be challenging to read. If your child is logged into their WRDSB Google Account, they can use the Read and Write for Google Chrome plugin to have online text read to them.
