“As of May 3, 2024, the General Education Development (GED) high school equivalency program is no longer available in Canada and is now replaced with the new Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC).” (see May 3, 2024 CAEC announcement at Ontario.ca)

Here are two sites we are watching for updates on the CAEC:

• Alberta’s Official CAEC site – containing updates about the CAEC test including sample tests
• Ontario’s TVO/Independent Learning Centre CAEC site – site for Ontario residents to register to write the CAEC test in Ontario

We will be learning more about the CAEC so that we can best help people needing a high school equivalency to write the test and earn their Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate.
