Games
This is a game for two players.
The object of the game: Be the person who reaches the target of 23.
How to Play:
- Players take it in turns to add 1, 2, 3 or 4 to the total.
- The player who reaches the target of 23 wins the game.
Here’s an example of how a game might go:
- I choose 4
- You choose 2 so the total is now 6 (4 + 2 = 6)
- I choose 3 so the total is now 9 (6 + 3 = 9)
- You choose 1 so the total is now 10 (9 + 1 = 10)
- I choose 4 so the total is now 14 (10 + 4 = 14)
- You choose 3 so the total is now 17 (14 + 3 = 17)
- I choose 2 so the total is now 19 (17 + 2 = 19)
- You choose 4 so the total is now 23, and you have won!
Variations:
- Once you have a winning strategy, change the target from 23 to a different total.
- Can you adapt your winning strategy?
- Now try changing the range of numbers you can add.
- Can you adapt your strategy again?
- Is it always best to go first?
