Pride Month continues and so does Indigenous History Month. In the summer of 2019, Anthony Johnson and James Makokis were the first Indigenous, two-spirit couple to compete on The Amazing Race Canada. You can read about their journey across Canada and their journey of raising awareness about LGBTQ+ and Indigenous Community issues.

Create your own Amazing Treasure Hunt!

Instead of creating an Amazing Race, try adapting it to be an Amazing Treasure Hunt by writing your own clues or have a family member help you make clues for others to enjoy! You can give clues about objects for inside of your home or outside too if you are safe and keep a physical distance from others. Read the examples below for some ideas!

Clue #1

This thing has lots of numbers,
It makes me feel less alone.
I talk and text others on it,
Could it be a ____________? (phone)
Leave your next clue on the phone.

Clue #2

It will be quite the tale,
When quarantine is o’er.
This is where a visitor comes,
You should check the __________. (door)
Leave your next clue on or near the door.

Continue the treasure hunt until you find the last clue. It could end with finding a favourite object, a surprise object, or simply a note of gratitude. Let the fun begin!
