Sometimes it’s all about the simplest things. Whenever we’re struggling, it’s great to go back to basics. So in an effort to keep it super simple, here are some easy ideas that kids love. Most of all, they will appreciate spending a little time together 💙

Make up a story of surprises. You begin with, “One day [your child’s name] decided to wear his shoes on his ears.” Then take turns. Be sure to add a few new unexpected twists like, “The cup ran across the table,” or “The rain fell up into the sky.” How do they respond?

By adding surprises to the story, you help your child practice the thinking skills of paying attention, remembering what they know about the world, and comparing it to the “surprise.” These are skills they need in school and life.
