Effective February 22, 2021, under direction of the Ministry of Education, staff and students are required to stay home from school or child care if anyone in their household develops a single symptom of COVID-19.

Return to School

If the symptomatic individual tests negative for COVID-19 or receives an alternative diagnosis by a health care professional:

  • the symptomatic individual and all other household contacts can return to school

If the symptomatic individual tests positive or does not get tested for COVID-19:

  • the symptomatic individual must isolate (including from household members) for 10 days from symptom onset
  • all other household contacts must isolate for 14 days from their last contact with the symptomatic individual
