Secondary Co-Operative Education: Summer School Program

 

  • placements will run from Monday, June 29th, 2026 – July 31, 2026 (note that Wednesday, July 1st is a holiday)
  • 5 MANDATORY orientation / pre-placement meetings will occur prior to start of placements in July
    • April 18th (virtual) from 8:30 – 4:30
    • April 25th (in-person – Cameron Heights CI) from 8:30 – 2:30 (+ 2 hrs virtual)
    • May 2nd (in-person – Cameron Heights CI) from 8:30 – 2:30 (+ 2 hrs virtual)
    • May 23rd (virtual) from 8:30 – 4:30
    • June 6th (virtual) from 8:30 – 4:30
  • registration will open Wednesday, February 18th and close Wednesday, March 25th
  • registration is completed through your student’s home school Guidance department
  • please begin these conversations with your Guidance Counsellor in advance of registration opening

All summer school courses, including co-op, will be offered to WRDSB students only who have attended a WRDSB school in the 2025-2026 school year.  

 

General Information and Student Expectations:

  1. Students may only take co-op OR a summer school credit course – not both.  
  2. Students who have a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently are best suited for the co-op program.
  3. Regular attendance is critical for success at summer school.  Vacation or work should be scheduled outside of summer school hours.  This includes the 5 mandatory orientation / pre-placement dates listed above.
  4. WRDSB reserves the right to cancel courses if there is insufficient enrolment or staff available. Students will be notified by their home school counsellor if the course they registered for is cancelled.
  5. Registration is only available to WRDSB students that attended a WRDSB in the 2025-2026 school year.

 

Registration Information:

  • Please contact your students’ Secondary School Guidance Department in order to register for the summer school program.
  • Registration for Summer Co-Op will open Wednesday, February 18th and closes Wednesday, March 25th, 2026.
