Summer is almost here!

On Sunday, June 21, summer will officially begin.
How do we know?

Watch this video that explains the summer solstice – the day summer begins.

Did you know that in northern Canada the sun doesn’t set at all in the days and weeks around June 21st?

This is called ‘the midnight sun’ – the time in the summer months, north of the Arctic Circle, when the Sun remains visible at midnight.

In this video, learn more about what it is like to live where the sun doesn’t set:

What would it be like for you if the sun never set? What would you do? Would you enjoy this, or do you think it would be a problem?

Write a brief paragraph describing what you think it would be like if it was always daylight, never dark.
Share your paragraph with a family member.
