The Learning Task
We have looked at the art of political cartoons Pictures With a Point and examined how a political cartoonist encourages you to think about current events. The artist is usually trying to persuade you to a particular point of view. Street artists also use art to make commentaries about the world around us.
Banksy is an anonymous England-based street artist. His art combines humour and satire to comment on current world events. Bansky recently donated a work of art on May 7, 2020 entitled, ‘Game Changer’ to a hospital in Southern England. How does Bansky’s art repeat the message of Theo Moudakisis political cartoon “Superheros”? Think: What persuasive techniques did both artists employ?
So proud to reveal this amazing piece of art Painting for Saints, created by #Banksy as a thank you to all those who work with and for the NHS and our hospital. Temporarily on display @UHSFT. An inspirational backdrop to pause and reflect in these unprecedented times. pic.twitter.com/3QIgMyrlcA

Your turn! Who would you like to thank anonymously and what form would your appreciation take (a friendly letter, picture, video message)? Create a message in the form of your choice to thank someone you feel deserves to hear an expression of gratitude. Consider delivering your message!
Daily task! Don’t forget to engage with your Writer’s Notebook: Creating a Place for Reflection
