Writing

Goals

  • critically examine a media sample and determine important ideas
  • begin a planning process to create a media sample

The Learning Task

Yesterday we looked at how a simple media image can convey big messages (Unlearning For A Better World) and you were asked what concepts do you think others might need to change, or extend, their thinking around and how might you represent that idea with a simple graphic.

Think of a big idea that you would like to see others thinking differently about (the environment, race relations, body image, gender, other). Create a visual representation of your thinking with a mind map with your big idea at the centre of your thinking and branching out with other ideas that relate to your big idea. Represent your thinking in a way that resonates with you. This work will be used with tomorrow’s intermediate literacy prompt.

Daily task! Don’t forget to engage with your Writer’s Notebook: Creating a Place for Reflection
