At Wrigley corners I band Black-capped Chickadees so that the students here can study the birds behaviour. Of course, you have to catch them first! I use a Potters trap in the Winter. Check out the video to see it in action.

Chickadees of the F.W.R Dickson Wilderness Area for more information about Potters traps, bird banding, and Chickadee behaviour.  This blog will focus primarily on the science of Chickadee life and what is happening at the Dickson.  Anybody who feeds these Chickadee’s might be interested to follow along as our students and I document a winter in the life of a Black-capped Chickadee Flock.
