Authors use their writing to share a message with us in non-fiction books, too.

Families:

As you walk in your neighbourhood, you may notice the Pride flag flying at schools or other buildings. Together with your child, listen to the non-fiction book Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag written by Rob Sanders and illustrated by Steven Salerno.

Talk with your child about what they think the important message is that the author wants us to know.
