In this program, students will be introduced to aspects of native life in a longhouse community. Activities include a legend, fire-making demonstration, lacrosse, a food-gathering simulation, and archery.

Notes for teachers:

For this program, we will need to split the class in two groups. One group will play the food-gathering game, and the other group will do lacrosse and archery. Then the students will switch. If we have no university or high school co-op students to help, you may need to supervise the game. This program runs more smoothly with a few parent volunteers.
