Game Idea #1

(adapted from 58 Fun and Easy Yoga Poses for Kids)

  1. Pick 5-8 yoga poses (depending on the age and need of the child) from 58 Fun and Easy Yoga Poses for Kids, or from the 10 Yoga poses from Cosmic Kids Yoga, or any poses that you may already know. You can have the picture poses up on a screen, written or sketched onto a piece of paper; whatever helps you to remember the poses.
  2. Then, with someone at your house, play yoga charades. Someone does a pose and their partner has to guess the pose and try it with them. Then, it is the next person’s turn.

As an extension or variation, many yoga poses have names that can be sorted into themes. For example a theme could be an animal theme -such poses would include downward dog, a butterfly pose, etc., or a nature theme -includes a tree pose, mountain pose, etc… Each partner could pick a theme and guess the poses and the theme.
