Generating and Collecting Ideas

Laughing makes us feel good! April Fools’ Day is a fun day to play practical jokes or to tell some jokes or funny stories.

Tell funny stories and funny jokes today. Tell your child a funny joke, and ask them to tell you one (or two, or three…).

One way to tell funny stories is to make up a story of surprises. “One day [your child’s name] decided to wear his shoes on his ears.” Then take turns. Be sure to add a few new unexpected twists like, “The cup ran across the table,” or “The rain fell up into the sky.” How do they respond?

Writing and illustrating these funny stories is fun, too!
